Opening Bank Account for Companies and Institutions

If you are interested in investing in the UAE, it is important that you open a bank account in Dubai that you can use to transact business. Here are the requirements:

A copy of the client’s passport.


Documentation confirming the identity of the owner of the company, its directors and any person authorized to act or sign documents on behalf of the company.


Proof of the addresses of the company owner and account signatories, such as a bill mailed to their home address, their passports and other identification.


Complete set of incorporation documents that has been notarized and apostilled including the certificate of incorporation, minutes of the board meeting appointing directors, memorandum of articles and association, and so forth. If a non-resident company is opening an account, these documents need to be certified by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs.


If the signatory was given his authorization to act through a power of attorney, a notarized and apostilled copy should be included.


There may be other requirements from individual banks such as a client profile and other documents such as a bank statement from an existing account and letter of recommendation from that bank.
