Investors wanting to conduct business in the UAE can open an
individual bank account in Dubai. All you have to do is meet the
requirements of the particular bank where you want to open an
account. While there may be some individual requirements of
certain banks, the general requirements are:
A copy of the client’s passport.
Documents confirming the address of the client, such as proof of billing (a bill sent to their home address) or copy of the passport showing the registration stamp.
A profile of the client. The bank will want to know some important information about the client to establish his trustworthiness. These may include the client’s source of income or wealth, what transactions he plans to conduct with the account and expected account activity. The questions asked are at the discretion of the individual bank.
Documents from the bank in his home country where the client has an existing account. Depending on the requirements of the bank, these may include bank statements demonstrating that the client has an active account in addition to a letter of recommendation. Different banks may have other requirements.
